Eustachio Zanotti (Bologna 1709 -1782) was the son of Gian Pietro Zanotti, a renowned painter and the author of an esteemed textbook for the instruction of young painters. He became the assistant of the famous astronomer Eustachio Manfredi and succeeded him in 1739 as the director of the astronomical observatory.
