|A larger coffer with good color and attractive carving. No strong regional markers, could well be from the Midlands. The apprentice-carved bottom rail provides an interesting insight into 17th-century shop practices. Panels with unusual pattern of lozenges filled with fleur-de-lis inside rectangles with scrolled corner spandrels. Top rail and muntins carved with foliated serpentine. The bottom rail apprentice-carved with lunettes. Three-panel lid with original snipe hinges. Three-panel back and paneled sides. Good, original condition.|
